It’s Not Curry. India 2011
These images were taken during my third visit to India in 2011. After working as a photographer and travelling extensively through the country, the diversity in culture, language, religion, environment and way of life have become more and more apparent.

This selection of images (taken in Karnataka, Punjab and Haryana and West Bengal) is part of a body of work that represents a unique perspective not synonymous with most Western peoples idea of India and Indian food.

Eight separate images were showcased in a two-month exhibition of the same name, It’s Not Curry , in London’s Fitzrovia in October 2011. Prints from the exhibition are still available to buy signed and either mounted and framed, or as prints only in editions of 25. Visit the online shop for details of the exhibition prints.

Famed for its Palace, zoo (the oldest zoo in India so its claimed), Chamundi Hills where sits a giant statue of Nandi , Brindavan Gardens and one of the biggest and most pungent flower markets in India. After living in Mysore for three months I can also conclude that it’s one of the most civilised cities in India.
